COOKED CRAB

Crabbing season. These Dungeness crabs are the best! They turn from purple to this orange when they cook. I thought I'd paint a few in different poses.

ELMER'S RIG

6x8" on Masonite
$100 SOLD

This old fly rig was my grandfather's. He was a country boy who grew up fishing on the Lewis and Clark river and a do-it -yourselfer. This reel has had the handle replaced with a piece of pencil with tape wrapped around it. It's so old I don't dare fish with it but  it's cool to look at.

SALMON PLUG

6x8" acrylic on Masonite
$100

I've got a bunch of these old antique salmon plugs. They're about 9 inches long and come in a variety of styles. A big lure for a big fish! Beleive it or not this was difficult to paint. Come on all you fishemen out there(and fishemen's wives) this would look great on your wall! A piece of salmon fishing history.

Yellow Pepper

6x8" on Masonite
$100

These peppers are luminous and that is hard to capture. This didn't photograph very well for some reason. It's better in real life ...really it is!

Shiny..I like shiny. And I like these greens. Looks like this shot was taken during an earthquake! Everything is jumpy....animated!
No...I don't really make soup from scratch. In My wife's dreams maybe.

LITTLE ELEPHANT

acrylic on Masonite 8x10"
$125

One of my personal favorites. This little guy has been around a long time. He was standing on my grandparents floor my entire childhood and I've had him since they passed on. Probably just a cheap plaster of Paris thing but he's worth a lot to me. Makes a good subject for painting. Lots of reflective surface and although he's black  there is no black paint in this.

Fresh avacados yesterday. One of my daughters likes to eat them with a spoon but only after anointing them with lots of lemon juice and salt and pepper. I gotta admit as good as they taste solo... they are even better her way.

Soul Food

8x10 on Masonite
buy Me $125 SOLD

I have this old set of about 15 leather bound books that have so much character.
Seems a little too traditional but what the heck! The pipe is one of my old man's. He was quite the pipe smoker at one time and collected a bunch... the reading glasses are mine.

MINUS TIDE

8x10' acrylic on Masonite
Buy me  $125 SOLD

Beautiful weather the last couple of days and low tides. The surf was small so the clams were showing. I wasn't digging so I tried to get some photos of the diggers. They looked suspiciously at me as I walked toward them with my camera and no shovel. I could just hear them muttering to themselves  "stupid tourist!"
Clam digging is deffinitely not a spectator sport.

LUNCH TIME

8x10" acrylic on Masonite
$125 SOLD

Okay I'm painting again. I had planned to paint a can of tomato soup and a can of tuna together but when I got to the cupboard ...no tuna! But this gave me a chance to use the pan along with the can of soup. Reflections are always good. I like this one.
